Overview
The City of Fairbanks has adopted some 2009 ICC codes. The City also adopted its 2011 City of Fairbanks Administrative Code with Ordinance No. 5839

Fairbanks adopted the 2009 IRC, locally. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.

The City amended the 2009 IRC with Ordinance No. 5831. The City also adopted and amended Appendix K.

Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of
construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.
The City also adopted the "2011 City of Fairbanks Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings" with Ordinance No. 5845

Refer to Chapter 34 of the adopted 2009 IBC. The City amended Section 3411 of that Chapter 34. The City also adopted the "2011 City of Fairbanks Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings" with Ordinance No. 5845
